बरसात के दिन / Rainy Day ☔

बरसात में अब सिर्फ तेज बारिश ही होती है, पहले की तरह अब बारिश में कागज की नाव को गलियों या गड्ढों में चलाने के लिए बच्चे घर से बाहर नहीं निकलते। अब सारी रात मेंढको की टर्र - टर्र सुनाई नहीं देती। शहरों में बारिश के बाद रोड पर बहता पानी, और गाड़ियों से दूर तक उछलते पानी के अलावा कुछ नहीं। सच कहूँ तो बारिश उन्हें ही अच्छी लगती हैं जिन्हें इस समय भरपेट भोजन मिल पाता है। इस लगातार हो रही बारिश से जूनिया का परिवार बहुत परेशान हो गया है।

जूनिया का पति बंशी दिहाड़ी मजदूर है और जूनिया जंगलो से लकड़ियाँ काटकर लाती है और उन्हें बेचकर अपना परिवार पालने में बंशी का सहयोग करती है। अभी बारिश के कारण जूनिया का परिवार बहुत तंगी का सामना कर रहा है। काम की कमी के कारण बंशी भी घर में ही बैठा है, लेकिन घर के हालात देखकर वो काम ढूंढने निकला और तेज बारिश में सारा दिन भीगता रहा। कुछ काम तो मिला नही उसे, लेकिन भीगने के कारण बीमार हो गया। अब जूनिया पर तो संकटों का पहाड़ टूट पड़ा। घर में खाने के लिए ना एक दाना है और ना बंशी के इलाज के लिए पैसा। जूनिया इस बारिश में करे तो क्या करे, यहाँ बंशी का शरीर बुखार में तप रहा है भूख के कारण सभी की आंतड़ियाँ सिकुड़ रही है।

झोपड़ी में सब तरफ सीलन हो गई है कमजोर छत से लगातार पानी टपकने के कारण झोपड़ी में बाहर कम और अंदर ज्यादा पानी है। जूनिया दिन भर पानी उलीचते रहती है ताकि उसकी झोपड़ी थोड़ी सूख जाए। बंशी के शरीर का ताप कम नहीं हो रहा है जूनिया उसके माथे पर ठंडे पानी की पट्टियां रखकर ताप कम करने की कोशिश कर रही है। बंशी तेज बुखार में बड़बड़ा रहा है, जूनिया तू मुझे थोड़ी सी दलिया दे दे बनाकर मैं कोई न कोई काम ढूंढ लूंगा। तभी तो हमारे लिए कुछ खाने के लिए ला सकूँगा। तू सुन रही है जूनिया, अरे कुछ जवाब तो दे, कुछ दे मुझे खाने के लिए। जूनिया कुछ नहीं बोली वो बंशी को सांत्वना देने लगी, बारिश बंद होने दे बंशी जो थोड़ी बहुत लकड़ियाँ रखी हैं उन्हें बेचकर मैं तेरी दवाई ले आऊँगी। बरसात रुकने का नाम नही ले रही जूनिया का दिल बैठा जा रहा है।

यदि बंशी को अब कुछ खाने को नहीं मिला तो उसकी हालत और बिगड़ जायेगी। बच्चे भी भूख के कारण छटपटा रहे हैं, जूनिया खुद को बहुत बेबस और लाचार समझ रही है। उसी समय उसकी झोपड़ी के पास किसी ने आवाज लगाई कि यहाँ किसी को सर्दी, खाँसी और बुखार तो नही है। जूनिया झोपड़ी के दरवाजे पर हाथ जोड़कर खड़ी हो गई और बोली आप तो भगवान की तरह आये हो डॉक्टर बाबू, मेरा पति बुखार में तप रहा है। उसे जरूरी दवाई देने के बाद स्वास्थ्य कर्मी ने देखा कि झोपड़ी में सब तरफ पानी ही पानी है और पता नहीं कितने दिनों से चूल्हा नही जला है इस घर में। उसने साथ आये सहकर्मी से कहा इनकी हालत तो बहुत खराब है पता नहीं ये लोग कितने दिनों से भूखे है। स्वास्थ्य कर्मी ने जूनिया को कुछ पैसे दिये और वे लोग वहाँ से आगे चले गए। जूनिया ने बाजार जाकर राशन और कुछ जरूरी सामान लाई। बहुत दिनों बाद आज जूनिया के घर खाना बन रहा है। बच्चे बार बार चूल्हे के पास आकर बैठ जाते हैं कि कब उन्हें मां खाना परोस दे।

गरीबी से जूझती जूनिया आज थोड़ी सी निश्चिन्त है क्योंकि बंशी को समय पर इलाज और खाना दोनों मिल गया। बारिश धीरे - धीरे कम होने लगी है, बंशी की तबियत में भी सुधार है। इसलिए जूनिया कुछ लकड़ियों का गट्ठर बनाकर बेचने गई है। लकडियाँ बेचकर जूनिया झोपड़ी को सुरक्षित करने के लिए बाजार से पन्नी खरीद लाई और झोपड़ी में सब तरफ से पन्नी लगा दी। अब उसकी झोपड़ी में पानी टपकना बंद हो गया। बंशी भी अब ठीक है, धीरे - धीरे कम होती बरसात के कारण उसे कभी कभार काम भी मिल जाता है। बरसात के बाद जूनिया का परिवार पहले की तरह ही जीवन यापन कर रहा है। लेकिन बरसात में जूनिया की तरह ही कई लोग परेशानी का सामना करते हैं उनके लिए बरसात मजेदार नही मुसीबत बनकर बरसती है, और सबके लिए समय पर मदद नही पहुंचती। 🥺

Juniya's husband Banshi is a daily wage labourer and Juniya cuts wood from the jungle and sells it to help Banshi in raising the family. Right now, due to the rain, Juniya's family is facing a lot of finacial crisis. Due to lack of work, Banshi is also sitting at home, but after seeing the condition of the house, he went out to find work and kept getting drenched in the heavy rain the whole day. He did not get any work, but he fell ill due to getting wet. Now a mountain of troubles fell on Juniya. There is not a grain to eat in the house and no money for Banshi's treatment. What can Juniya do in this rain, here Banshi's body is burning with fever, everyone's intentines are shrinking due to hunger.

There is dampness all around in the hut, due to the constant dripping of water from the weak roof, there is more water inside the hut than outside. Juniya keeps scooping out water throughout the day so that her hut can dry up a bit. Banshe's body temperature is not coming down. Juniya is trying to reduce the temperature by putting cold water strips on his forehead. Banshi is murmuring in high fever, Juniya, please make some porridge for me, I will find some work. After giving him the necessary medicine, the health worker saw that there was water everywhere in the hut and it has been a long time since the stove has not been lit in this house. He told his colleague that their condition is very bad and it is a long time since they have been hungry. The health worker gave some money to Juniya and they went ahead from there. Juniya went to the market and bought ration and some essential items. After a long time, food is being cooked at Juniya's house. The children keep coming and sitting near the stove waiting for their mother to serve them food.

Juniya, who was struggling with poverty, is a little relieved today because Banshi got both treatment and food on time. The rain has started to subside gradually. Banshi's health is also improving. That is why Juniya has made a bundle of wood and has gone to sell it. Juniya sold the wood and bought a plastic sheet from the market to protect the hut and covered it from all sides. Now the water stopped dripping into her hut. Banshi is also fine now and due to the gradually decreasing rainfall, he sometimes gets work too. After the rains, Juniya's family is living their life as before. But many people like Juniya face problems during the rains. For them, the rains are not fun but a problem.
