पेशे से डॉक्टर रोहिणी उत्तरप्रदेश की रहने वाली है। आज रोहिणी थोड़ी सज है धजकर हॉस्पिटल आई। उसे देखकर कोई भी बता देगा कि कुछ तो खास है आज जो मैडम तैयार हुई है। सामान्यतः रोहिणी बिल्कुल साधारण जीवन जीती है।

उन्हें देखकर लगता था जैसे इन्हें जीवन जीने में भी रुचि नहीं है बस जैसे तैसे दिन काट रही है। कभी कोई शिकायत नहीं, अपने कार्यस्थल पर भी वो इतनी विनम्र थी कि कभी किसी ने उनकी ऊंची आवाज नहीं सुनी। क्योंकि वो किसी को कभी डांटती नहीं थी। रोहिणी ने उसके जीवन में इतने उतार चढ़ाव देखे थे कि अब वो खुद को और बदलना नहीं चाहती थी। क्योंकि उसकी कोशिश उसकी सफलता की कहानी नहीं बल्कि विफलता का किस्सा बन गई। रोहिणी आज एक सफल हार्ट सर्जन के रूप में जानी जाती है, वो जहां भी जाती है लोग उसे भगवान की तरह पूजते हैं क्योंकि रोहिणी पूरी तरह अपने काम के लिए समर्पित है। रोज कितने ही लोगों के दिल की सर्जरी करके रोहिणी उन्हें जीवनदान देती है। लेकिन खुद के टूटे हुए दिल के टुकड़े जोड़ने में असफल रोहिणी, रोज एक ही दिलासा देती है खुद को कि निशांत लौट आएगा उसके पास। क्या निशांत भी रोहिणी के लिए ऐसा कुछ सोचता है। रोहिणी चालीस साल की होने वाली है, अब तक वो क्यों निशांत का इंतजार कर रही है। यहां यह तो साफ नजर आ रहा है कि रोहिणी वहीं रुक गई है जहां निशांत उसे छोड़ गया। लेकिन क्या वजह थी कि दोनों एक साथ आगे नहीं बढ़ पाए। निशांत और रोहिणी बचपन से एक दूसरे को जानते हैं। दोनों का बचपन भागलपुर में एक साथ बीता, रोहिणी अपने मामा के घर रहा करती थी और निशांत का परिवार उनका पड़ोसी था। दोनो एक ही स्कूल में पढ़ते थे तो साथ ही आना जाना होता था।

एक दिन मौका पाकर निशांत ने रोहिणी से अपने प्यार का इजहार कर दिया। रोहिणी भी निशांत को पसंद करती थी, तो अब दोनों इस प्यार को सात जन्मों तक निभाना चाहते थे। अभी उन्हें ये नहीं पता था कि जिंदगी की कड़वी सच्चाई क्या है ? समय के साथ दोनों का प्यार प्रगाढ़ होता जा रहा था। करवाचौथ आने वाला है और रोहिणी अपने सच्चे प्यार की लंबी उम्र के लिए ये व्रत करना चाहती है। लेकिन उसे ये भी डर है कि घर में किसी को पता चल जाएगा तो ठीक नहीं होगा। सबसे छुपकर रोहिणी ने व्रत रख ली और रात में निशांत से मिलने गई तब उसे बताई कि आज मैने तुम्हारी लंबी उम्र के लिए व्रत की हूं, और ये व्रत मैं तुम्हारे लिए हमेशा करूंगी। निशांत खुश भी था और परेशान भी, लेकिन रोहिणी ने इस बात पर ध्यान नहीं दी। दोनों बहुत देर तक साथ रहे। जाते समय निशांत रोहिणी से कहकर गया कि वो मामा के घर जा रहा है, दो दिन में वापस आ जाएगा। आधी रात में अचानक रोहिणी को तेज पेट दर्द हुआ, उसे लगा दिन भर कुछ नहीं खाई थी शायद इसलिए पेट में दर्द हुआ है। लेकिन जब दर्द असहनीय हो गया तब घर में सभी परेशान हो गए और उसे अस्पताल ले गए। वहां पता चला कि रोहिणी गर्भवती है। सुनकर सभी सन्न रह गए, रोहिणी उसके मामा से बहुत डरती थी। मामा ने पूछे ये किसका बच्चा है रोहिणी, वो बोली निशांत का ।

निशांत यहां नहीं है ये बात रोहिणी के मामा भी जानते थे, लेकिन फिर भी वो निशांत के घर गए और उसके पिता को बहुत अपमानित किए। जब निशांत वापस आया तो गुस्साए पिता ने उसे बहुत पीटे और घर से चले जाने को कहे। निशांत को उसके पिता से ही पता चला कि रोहिणी गर्भवती थी। जहां कल तक दोनों के बीच बहुत प्यार था वहीं आज निशांत के मन में रोहिणी के लिए नफरत भर गई थी। अब वो उसे देखना भी नहीं चाहता था। सच जाने बिना ही निशांत रोहिणी को दोषी समझ रहा था। वो सोच रहा था कि रोहिणी ने जान बूझकर ये बात उसके जाने के बाद बताई। क्योंकि वे दोनों हर रोज ही मिलते थे तो रोहिणी ने गर्भवती होने की बात निशांत को क्यों नहीं बताई। निशांत के बदलाव से अनजान रोहिणी रोज निशांत का इंतजार करती थी और यही सोचती थी कि ऐसा क्या काम रहता है निशांत को, जो वो मिलने भी नहीं आता है। आज रोहिणी घरवालों से छिपकर निशांत से मिलने निकल गई। क्योंकि वो जिस कठिन परिस्थिति में आज है उसका जिम्मेदार निशांत ही तो है और वो उसकी खैर खबर तक नहीं ले रहा है। दोपहर का समय था निशांत खेत में काम कर रहा था, रोहिणी को सामने देखा तो रुक गया, कुछ नाराज लहज़े में बोला अब क्या रह गया है। रोहिणी बोली मै आगे की पढ़ाई के लिए दिल्ली जा रही हूं और जो कुछ हमारे बीच हुआ है वो की मजाक नहीं था। निशांत इस प्यार को निभाने का वादा सिर्फ मेरा नहीं था तुम भी वही चाहते थे इसलिए हम साथ में आगे बढ़े। मैं जा रही हूं मुझसे किया तुम अपना हर वादा निभाओगे ये विश्वास है मुझे। तुम पर और तुम्हारे प्यार पर पूरा भरोसा है, तुम्हारा इंतजार करूंगी। रोहिणी डॉक्टरी की पढ़ाई में व्यस्त थी निशांत अपनी गरीब परिस्थिति के कारण ज्यादा पढ़ नहीं सका और परिवार के दबाव में आकर उसने शादी कर ली। निशांत घर की परिस्थिति को सुधारने के चक्कर में कर्ज में डूबता जा रहा था। इस कर्ज से उबरने के लिए उसने खाड़ी देश जाने का फैसला किया। पत्नी और बच्चों को माता पिता के पास छोड़कर निशांत खाड़ी देश चला गया। रोहिणी अब दिल की डॉक्टर बन गई थी, लेकिन वो आज भी बहुत धार्मिक विचारों वाली थी, व्रत, पूजा कभी नहीं भूलती थी। हर साल नियम से करवाचौथ का व्रत करती थी निशांत के लिए। जबकि निशांत ने रोहिणी की कभी खैर खबर तक नहीं ली।कैसा विश्वास था रोहिणी का, कि उसने निशांत के इंतजार में अठारह साल बीता दिए।

एक दिन अचानक निशांत आया लेकिन आपातकालीन परिस्थिति में। निशांत को हृदयाघात हुआ था। तुरंत उसका ऑपरेशन किया गया, उसे जीवनदान देने वाला कोई और नहीं डॉक्टर रोहिणी थी। निशांत को जब होश आया तो सामने रोहिणी को देखकर उसे यकीन नहीं आया कि ये वही रोहिणी है जिसे उसने ठुकरा दिया था। लेकिन निशांत को देखकर रोहिणी खुश हो गई, उसे लगा जैसे उसकी तपस्या सफल हो गई है, भगवान ने उसे उसके व्रतों का परिणाम दे दिया हो। हर दिन प्रार्थना में रोहिणी बस यही बोलती थी कि हे ईश्वर निशांत आ जाए। निशांत ने अब तक रोहिणी को ये नहीं बताया कि उसकी शादी हो चुकी है और उसके तीन बच्चे हैं। दो दिन बाद निशांत की अस्पताल से छुट्टी होने वाली है और उसके परिजन उसे लेने आए हैं। निशांत के परिजनों के आने पर रोहिणी को पता चला कि निशांत की शादी को पंद्रह साल हो चुके हैं। 😥 शेष अगले अंक में .....
