वक्त की करवट / Turn of time

बहुत वर्षों बाद सुभाष अपने पैतृक गांव गया। वहां सब कुछ इतना बदल गया होगा, इसका अनुमान नहीं था उसे। घर में बैग रखकर वो सबसे पहले पटेल काका की हवेली की तरफ भागा।

          

सुभाष के माता-पिता पटेल की हवेली में ही काम करते थे। सुभाष को अच्छी शिक्षा दिलाने का जिम्मा खुद पटेल काका ने अपने ऊपर ले लिए थे। बचपन से ही सुभाष पटेल काका को अपने पिता से अधिक मान देता था।

                    अब सुभाष एक बड़ी कंपनी में इंजीनियर बन गया था। उसे ये खबर खुद ही पटेल काका को सुनना था, इसलिए वो भागकर पहले काका की हवेली तक गया। 

         

सुभाष वहां का नजारा देखकर अवाक रह गया। काका कहीं नजर नहीं आए, लेकिन हवेली पर सभी अजनबी लोग नजर आ रहे थे। कौन है ये लोग? कुछ समझ नहीं पा रहा था सुभाष। 

किसी से बिना कुछ कहे सुभाष जब घर की तरफ जा रहा था तो रास्ते में उसे पटेल काका फटे पुराने कपड़ों में दिखे। पता नहीं कितने दिनों से काका ने भरपेट भोजन नहीं किए। उनकी हालत बहुत ज्यादा खराब दिख रही थी। 

            

सुभाष पटेल काका को अपने साथ घर ले आया। घर लाकर काका को नहलाया और साफ - सुथरे कपड़े पहनने को दिए। उन्हें अपने हाथ से खाना खिलाते हुए, बचपन की बातें दोहराने लगा। कि याद है काका जब मैं छोटा था तब आप ये बात जान जाते थे कि मैं भूखा हूं और बिना कुछ कहे आप मुझे भरपेट खाना खिलाते थे अपने हाथों से। 

काका की आंखों से आंसू बह निकले। वो बिना कुछ कहे बस एक- एक निवाला निगल रहे थे बेमन से। इस समय काका किसी बात का जवाब नहीं देना चाहते थे। 

         

खाना खिलाकर काका को आराम करने के लिए कह दिया सुभाष ने। जब काका की आंख लग गई, तब सुभाष गांव में घूमने निकला। गांव वालों से मिला तब पता चला कि काका की हवेली को नीलम हुए पूरे एक वर्ष हो चुका है, और ये काम  उनके चचेरे भाई ने किया है। पटेल काका के सीधेपन का फायदा उठाकर उसने सब संपति अपने नाम करवा लिया और बेचकर रातों रात विदेश भाग गया।

                 काका को ये सब तब पता चला जब हवेली के नए मालिक यहां रहने के लिए आए। काका ने उस समय गांव वालों से कोई सहायता नहीं ली। काका ने बहुत कोशिश की अपने भाई से संपर्क करने की लेकिन कोई फायदा नहीं हुआ।

                कहते हैं  बुरे काम का बुरा नतीजा यही हुआ !

 काका के भाई ने जिस संपत्ति को बेचकर खुद के लिए नया व्यवसाय शुरू किए थे उसमें उन्हें अनुमान से अधिक घाटा हो गया, जिसका सदमा वो बर्दास्त नहीं कर सका और असमय दुनिया से विदा हो गया।

सुभाष इस कोशिश में था कि काका को उनका सम्मान और हवेली वापस दिलाएगा वो। क्योंकि सुभाष पटेल काका का कर्ज़ उतारना चाहता था। बचपन से अब तक उसकी पढ़ाई का सारा खर्च पटेल काका ने ही किए। 

        

वक्त कब करवट लेगा ये कोई नहीं जानता। एक मजदूर का बेटा आज बड़ी कंपनी में इंजीनियर है। सुभाष ने कुछ पैसे अपनी मेहनत से जमा किए और कुछ बैंक से लोन लेकर पटेल काका की हवेली वापस खरीदकर उन्हें सम्मान से उनके घर पहुंचाया।

                ना कभी खुद पर घमंड करो और ना वक्त पर। क्योंकि वक्त कब करवट बदल ले कोई नहीं जानता।

After many years Subhash went to his native village. He had no idea that everything would have changed so much there. Keeping the bag in the house, he first ran towards Patel uncle's mansion. 

         

Subhash's parents used to work in Patel's mansion. Patel uncle himself took the responsibility of providing good education to Subhash. Since childhood, Subhash used to respect Patel uncle more than his father. 

          

Now Subhash had become an engineer in a big company. He had to narrate this news to Patel uncle himself, so he ran to uncle's mansion first.

Subhash was stunned to see the sight there. Uncle was nowhere to be seen, but all the strangers were visible on the mansion. Who are these people ? Subhash couldn't understand anything. 

When Subhash was going towards home without saying anything to anyone, on the way he saw Patel uncle in torn old clothes. His condition was looking very bad.

           

Subhash brought Patel uncle home with him. After bathing uncle, Subhash was given to wear clean clothes. While feeding him with his own hand, he started repeating his childhood things. Remember that uncle, when I was young, you used to know that I am hungry, and without saying anything, you used to feed me with your hands. 

Tears welled up from uncle's eyes. Without saying anything, he was just swallowing every single morsel relentlessly. At this time uncle did not want to answer anything.

         

 

After feeding his uncle, Subhash asked him to take rest. When uncle's eyes caught, Subhash went out for a walk in the village. After meeting the villagers, it came to know that it has been a whole years since uncle's mansion was done by his cousin. Taking advantage of Patel uncle's straightforwardness, he got all the property in his name and sold it and fled abroad overnight. 

         

Uncle came to know about all this when the new owners of the mansion came to live here. Uncle did not take any help from the villagers at that time. Uncle tried hard to contact his brother but to no avail.

It is said that there is  bad result of bad work. This is what happened, the property that uncle's brother had sold and started a new business for him, he suffered a loss more than expected, which he could not bear the shock and left the world untimely.

         

Subhash was trying to get uncle back his  honor and mansion. Because Subhash wanted to pay off the debt of his Patel uncle. From childhood till now, now all the expenses of his education were paid by Patel uncle.

No one knows when the time will turn. Today the son of a laborer is an engineer in a big company. Subhash deposited some money from his own hard work and after taking loan from some bank, bought back the mansion of Patel uncle and took him to his house with respect.

Never be proud of yourself or on time. Because no one knows when the time will turn.
