मनचाहा वर / Desired groom

संतोषी मेरी सहेली है। अभी उसने बारहवीं की परीक्षा दी और परिवार वाले उसकी शादी के लिए दबाव बनाने लगे। जबकि वो आगे और पढ़ाई कर शिक्षिका बनना चाहती थी।

         

आज लड़का संतोषी को देखने आने वाला है, वो खुश भी है और घबराई सी भी। मेहमानों के आने से पहले मैं उसे तैयार करके आ गई। शाम में मिलने की बात हुई और वादे के मुताबिक संतोषी शाम में मिठाई के डिब्बे के साथ आ गई। मैं समझ गई कि रिश्ता पक्का हो गया है। लड़के को लड़की बहुत पसंद आई, और संतोषी को भी कोई एतराज नहीं था। उसके लिए जो लड़का देखे थे उसका नाम प्रहलाद था। उसका अपना सैलून था और अच्छी कमाई करता था वो। 

          

अभी रिश्ता पक्का ही हुआ था कि प्रहलाद की मां ने फोन करके बाइक की मांग रख दी। संतोषी के माता पिता ने अपनी बेटी की खुशी के लिए ये भी स्वीकार कर लिये। लेकिन प्रहलाद के माता - पिता को सिर्फ घर पसंद आया था और उन्होंने ये देखे कि लड़की इकलौती है तो दहेज भी खूब मिलेगा। लेकिन संतोषी को प्रहलाद इतना पसंद आया कि उसने अपने माता - पिता से बोल दी कि शादी करूंगी तो सिर्फ प्रहलाद से, नहीं तो  किसी से नहीं।

          

संतोषी को प्रहलाद में वो सारे गुण नज़र आए जो वो अपने भावी पति में चाहती थी। बेटी को मनचाहा वर मिले हर माता - पिता की यही कामना होती है। इसलिए वर पक्ष की सभी शर्तों को मानकर शादी संपन्न की। मायका सूना करके संतोषी  ससुराल में खुशियां बिखेरने चली गई। नई नवेली दुल्हन का खूब स्वागत किया गया। सभी रीति रिवाज पूरे हुए और घर भी मेहमानों से खाली हुआ। तब घर में थोड़ा खुलापन महसूस हुआ संतोषी को।

प्रहलाद को संतोषी कुछ खास पसंद नहीं आई थी, ये बात उसने संतोषी को ही बोल दिया। संतोषी को मानो अपने आप पर विश्वास ही नहीं हुआ। क्योंकि ये वही प्रहलाद था जिसने पहली ही बार में संतोषी को पसंद किया था। बाद में पता चला कि इनका परिवार दहेज के लालच में घर से ही योजना बनाकर आए थे कि रिश्ता पक्का ही करना है। अब अपने लिए गए निर्णय पर संतोषी को अफसोस हो रहा था, क्योंकि उनके लालच को  भांपकर संतोषी के पिता इस रिश्ते से इंकार करने वाले थे लेकिन बेटी की जिद्द के आगे उन्होंने घुटने टेक दिए। 

           

 संतोषी अपने साथ हुए धोखे को अब किसी को बता भी नहीं सकती थी। सच्चाई कब तक छिपती, संतोषी की शादी को दो वर्ष बीत गए लेकिन अब तक वो मां नहीं बन पाई। मां के पूछने पर पहले तो संतोषी चुप रही फिर रोते हुए सारी बात बताई कि, मुझे अलग कमरे में रखते हैं और नौकरों जैसा व्यवहार करते हैं मेरे साथ। 

माता - पिता ने निर्णय लिए कि वो अपनी बेटी के लिए सुख चाहते थे ना कि दुःख, अब तलाक का निर्णय ही अंतिम निर्णय है। 

अब संतोषी भूल गई मनचाहा वर का सपना और माता - पिता की पसंद से दूसरी शादी करके खुशहाल जीवन जी रही है।

Santoshi is my friend. Just now she gave her 12th exam, and family members started pressurising her for marriage. While she wanted to study further and become a teacher. 

      

Today the boy is going to see Santoshi, she is happy and nervous too. I prepared it before the guests arrived. There was talk of meeting in the evening and as promised, Santoshi came in the evening with a box of sweets. 

I understood that the relationship was fixed. The boy liked girl very much, and Santoshi also did not mind. The boy who had seen for him was named Prahalad. He had his own salon and earned a good income.

         

The relationship had just been confirmed that Prahalad's mother called and kept the demand for the bike. Santoshi's parents also accepted this for the happiness of their daughter.

But Prahalad's parents only liked the house and they saw that if the girl is the only one, then he will get a lot of dowry. But Santoshi liked Prahalad so much that she told his parents that if I will marry only Prahalad, otherwise not with anyone.

          

Santoshi saw in Prahalad all the qualities that she wanted in her future husband. It is the wish of every parent to get the desired groom for the daughter. Therefore, accepting all the conditions of the groom's side, the marriage was concluded.

After leaving the maternal, Santoshi went to spread happiness in the in - law's house. The new bride was given a warm welcome. All the customs were completed and the house was also empty of guests. Then Santoshi felt a little openness in the house.

                Prahalad did not like Santoshi much, he told this to Santoshi only. Santoshi felt as if she could not believe in herself. Because it was the same Prahalad who liked Santoshi in the first place. Later it came to know that their family had come from home in the greed of dowry with a plan that the relationship has to be confirmed.

           

 Now Santoshi was regretting the decision she had taken, because sensing his greed, Santoshi's father was about to refuse this relationship, but he succumbed to the daughter's insistence.

Santoshi could not even tell anyone about the deception that happened to her. How long would the truth hide, Santoshi's marriage passed two years but till now she could not become a mother. At first Santoshi remained silent on the mother's request, then cried and told the whole thing that, keep me in a separate room and treat me like servants.

The parents decided that they wanted happiness and not sorrow for their daughter, now the decision of divorce is the final decision. 

Now Santoshi has forgotten the dream of the desired groom and is living a happy life by marrying her parents choice.
