घर की लाज / The pride of the house

कहने को जमाना बदल गया है, लेकिन हमारी सोच नहीं बदली। घर की इज्जत का ख्याल रखना आज भी बेटियों की ही जिम्मेदारी है।

           

  

ओंकार अंकल के बेटे वैभव की शादी समारोह से अभी लौटे हैं हम। अंतर्जातीय विवाह हुआ लेकिन बहुत ही धूमधाम और खुशी से हुई शादी। बड़ी बहू महिमा की खूब तारीफें सुनी। अब देखते हैं छोटी बहू अनामिका कैसी होगी।

अपने घर संसार को अपने तरीके से सजाने का सपना हर लड़की का होता है। अनामिका भी बहुत सारे सपनों को लेकर ससुराल आई थी, लेकिन सास कुछ खींची हुई सी रहती थी। अनामिका को लगता था कि हो सकता है सासू मां का व्यवहार ही ऐसा होगा। हमेशा हंसने वाली अनामिका अब उदास सी रहने लगी। क्योंकि उसे अब ये समझ आने लगा था कि ये भेदभाव क्यों हो रहा है। अनामिका सजातीय नही थी इसलिए सासू मां उसे स्वीकार नहीं कर पा रही थी। हर कोई बस महिमा की ही तारीफ करता था। इसी बात का अभिमान करता था महिमा का पति अनिल। अनामिका सब सह रही थी। 

वैभव की शादी के कुछ ही महीने बीते थे कि महिमा ने घर छोटा होने का बहाना करके अलग रहने की बात की। अनामिका को लगा कि शायद वैभव और उसे ही घर से चलता किया जायेगा। लेकिन हुआ उल्टा, महिमा अपना सामान लेकर दूसरी जगह शिफ्ट हो गई।

माता - पिता के साथ वैभव और अनामिका खुशहाल जीवन जी रहे थे। अब धीरे - धीरे आस पड़ोस और रिश्तेदारी में अनामिका के व्यवहार की तारीफें होने लगी। वो थी भी तारीफ के लायक, ससुर को पिता और सास को मां समझकर उनकी सेवा करती थी। अनामिका परिवार में सभी का ख्याल रखती थी।

संस्कारों की कमी दिखी सजातीय बड़ी बहू महिमा में। अपना व्यवसाय अच्छा चले इसके लिए उसने काम करने के लिए दुकान पर कुछ युवकों को काम पर रखी। उन्हीं में से एक था प्रताप, जो उम्र में महिमा से पन्द्रह साल छोटा था।

       

महिमा को देखते ही प्रताप उस पर मोहित हो गया, लेकिन पथभ्रष्ट महिमा की बुद्धि ने भी उसका साथ छोड़ दी थी, और वो भी प्रताप की हो गई। महिमा के दो बच्चे थे, एक बेटी जो सत्रह वर्ष की थी और बेटा बारह वर्ष का।

किसी के लिए कुछ नहीं सोची महिमा ने, बस अपनी दुनिया में मस्त रहने लगी। व्यवसाय भी चौपट हो गया, और प्रताप अब सब काम छोड़कर महिमा का गुलाम हो गया था। अपनी मस्ती में महिमा ने ये भी नहीं सोची कि जिस छिछोरे लड़के को अपने साथ अपने घर में रख रही है, उसकी नीयत में खोट भी आ सकता है, उसकी बेटी के लिए। 

हुआ भी यही प्रताप धीरे - धीरे उसकी बेटी पर डोरे डालने लगा। अनिल ने अब तक कुछ नहीं कहा था, लेकिन जब बेटी पर संकट महसूस किया तो उसने प्रताप और महिमा को घर से निकाल दिया।

          

लेकिन बेटी ये सदमा बर्दास्त नहीं कर सकी और अचानक ही इतनी ज्यादा बीमार हो गई कि, अनिल को मजबूरी में महिमा को वापस बुलाना पड़ा। लेकिन महिमा अपनी शर्तों के साथ वापस आई, कि उसके साथ प्रताप भी आएगा। स्वीकार है तो आती हूं नहीं तो तुम्हारी बेटी को तुम ही संभालो। मजबूर अनिल ने जहर का घूंट पिया और दोनों को घर में आने दिया।

       

इतना अपमान सहने के बाद भी अनिल अपनी बेटी को बचा नहीं पाया। सभी इसका दोष महिमा को दे रहे हैं, लेकिन उसे कोई अफसोस नहीं बेटी के मरने का। सगे संबंधी महिमा को कोस रहे हैं, मां के नाम पर कलंक बन गई है महिमा।

बच्चों के लिए मां खुद भूखी रहती है लेकिन अपने हिस्से का खाना भी अपने बच्चे को दे देती है। परंतु महिमा अपने शरीर की क्षुधा पर विजय ना पा सकी और खुद को प्रताप के अधीन कर दी।

अब तो रिश्तेदार भी उसे कलंकिनी कहने लगे हैं, सभी ने उससे नाता तोड़ लिए। बेटियां घर की लाज होती है, लेकिन बहू दो घर की लाज को अपने संस्कारों से संभालती है। जो उसकी प्रतिष्ठा और सम्मान को बढ़ाता है समाज में।

              महिमा ने ना अपने माता - पिता की लाज रखी और ना ससुराल की। सभी के लिए अपमान के बीज बो दिए महिमा ने। उसके बच्चे को क्या शिक्षा देगी वो, क्या होगा उसका भविष्य जिसकी मां इतनी स्वार्थी हो गई है।

समय सिर्फ समझौता करना ही नहीं सिखाता, बल्कि हमें सीख भी देता है कि अपनी बुद्धि से परीक्षण करें उचित अनुचित का। जरूरी नहीं कि जो रास्ता आपके  सामने है वो सही ही होगा। गलत रास्ते पर चलकर हमेशा सर्वनाश की ओर जाओगे। जैसे महिमा चली गई और घर की लाज को सरेआम नीलाम कर दी।

But Mahima came back with her own conditions, that Pratap would also accompany her. If you accept, I come, otherwise you will take care of your daughter. Forced Anil took a sip of poison and allowed both of them to enter the house.

Even after suffering so much humiliation, Anil could not save his daughter. Everyone is blaming this on Mahima, but she has no regrets about the death of her daughter. Relatives are cursing Mahima. Mahima has become a stigma in the name of mother.

          

 The mother herself remains hungry for the children, but also gives her share of food to her child. But Mahima could not overcome the craving of her body and subjected herself to Pratap.

Now even relatives have started calling her kalankini, everyone has broken ties with her. Daughters are the pride of the house, but daughters - in - law handle the shame of the two houses with their sanskara. Which increases his prestige and respect in the society.

Mahima did neither the shame of her parents nor her in - law's. Mahima sowed the seeds of humiliation for all. What will she teach her child, What will be his future, whose mother has become so selfish.
