हम अपने प्रति किसी के प्यार और नफरत को नहीं जान सकते हैं क्योंकि अब तक भावनाओं की मापतौल कर सकें ऐसा कोई यंत्र बना नही है।

यदि हम किसी से बहुत अधिक प्रेम करते हैं तो हम खुद ही ये मान लेते हैं कि जिसे हम बहुत प्रेम कर रहे हैं वो भी हमें उतना ही प्रेम कर रहा है। लेकिन कौन धोखा देगा ये नही पता चलता। अनुज आईटीआई अंतिम वर्ष का छात्र है और आज उसका अंतिम पेपर होने वाला है। सुबह 7 बजे से घर से निकला अनुज दोपहर तक घर वापस नहीं आया तो छोटी बहन दीक्षा चिंता में यहां - वहां फोन करके भाई की कुशलक्षेम जानने का प्रयास करने लगी। मां और बड़ा भाई दस दिनों के लिए अपने पैतृक गांव गए थे वो भी शाम तक आने वाले हैं। लेकिन मां और बड़े भाई के आने की खुशी ने भी चिंता का रूप ले ली, क्योंकि घर आते ही मां का पहला सवाल यही होगा कि आज अनुज का अंतिम पेपर था कैसा रहा उसका पेपर। पिता की नौकरी भी दूसरे शहर में है। क्या करे दीक्षा ? अभी यही सोच रही थी कि सबके सवालों का सामना कैसे करेगी, क्या जवाब देगी माता पिता को। तभी मोबाइल बज उठा, घबराकर दीक्षा ने फोन उठाई तो दूसरी तरफ से आवाज आई कि हेलो मैं पुलिस स्टेशन से बोल रहा हूं।

एक ही पल में न जाने कितनी आशंकाओं ने घेर लिया दीक्षा को। घबराकर बोली जी बोलिए ! पुलिस की बातों को सुनकर दीक्षा को अपने कानों पर विश्वास नहीं हुआ। अनुज पर उसकी प्रेमिका रानी द्वारा अपहरण और बलात्कार की शिकायत दर्ज करवाई गई थी थाने में। अब तक शाम के 6 बज चुके थे अनुज की मां और बड़ा भाई घर पहुंचे, तो दीक्षा ने रोते हुए सारी बातें बताई। मां और भाई सीधे थाने पहुंचे, बेटे को निर्दोष बताकर अनुज की मां पुलिस से विनती करने लगी कि उसे छोड़ दीजिए। लेकिन अब तक अनुज पर बहुत सारे आरोप और धाराएं लग चुकी थी। ये छोटी सी बात नही थी कि अनुज जिस लड़की के साथ भविष्य के सुनहरे सपने सजाता था, उसने ही उसे अपहरण और बलात्कार जैसे संगीन मामले का दोषी बताकर मुस्कुराते हुए थाने से घर चली गई। रानी को देखकर ये अनुमान लगाना कठिन था कि ये सब वो अपनी मर्जी से कर रही है या परिवार के दबाव में आकर, मजबूरी में अनुज को आरोपी बना दी। ख़ैर ! जेल में अनुज अब अपनी मां की बातों को याद करके पछताता है। कि क्यों ना उसने मां की बातें मानी, कि जिस रानी के लिए सबका विरोध करता है देखना कहीं किसी दिन वो तुझे फंसा ना दे।

आज अनुज को प्यार पर कोई विश्वास नहीं रहा। क्योंकि उसने तो रानी से सच्चा प्यार किया था, लेकिन उसको बदले में मिली जेल की सलाखें। ये कैसा प्यार है, जिसमे प्रतिशोध की ज्वाला के अलावा कुछ नहीं था।
