गांव हो या शहर करवाचौथ की तैयारी महिलाएं एक महीने पहले से शुरू कर देती हैं। ताकि कहीं कोई कमी ना रह जाए या कोई चूक उनके मन में शंका का कारण ना बन जाए। तुलसिया एक ग्रामीण महिला है, उसका विवाह पास के ही गांव में बिसनू के साथ हुआ था। गांव में पांचवी कक्षा से आगे का स्कूल नहीं था। तो तुलसिया भी बस पांचवी कक्षा तक ही पढ़ी थी।

बिसनू पढ़ाई के लिए शहर गया हुआ था और आगे भी पढ़कर नौकरी लगने के बाद शादी करना चाहता था। लेकिन माता पिता के आगे उसकी एक ना चली और उसे नौकरी लगने से पहले ही शादी के लिए गांव आना पड़ा। शादी हो गई लेकिन बिसनू ने तुलसिया को अपनी पत्नी स्वीकारने से मना कर दिया। ये बात सुनकर तुलासिया रोते हुए बोली एह में हमार का दोष बा, तोहार माई बाबूजी ई बिआह ठीक क देले रहले। सबके सामने तुलसिया ऐसे रहती थी जैसे उसे कोई दुःख नहीं है। लेकिन जब भी वो अकेली रहती खूब रोती। अब बिसनू की नौकरी भी लग गई थी, तो बिसनू के माता पिता जोर देने लगे कि तुलसिया को अपने साथ शहर ले जाओ। कुछ समय तक बिसनू टालता रहा लेकिन कब तक झूठ बोलता आखिर उसे तुलसिया को साथ लाना ही पड़ा। उनके रिश्ते का जो भी हाल था वो तो उन्हें ही पता था। तुलसिया ग्रामीण अंचल की थी वो गांव की भाषा का ही उपयोग करती थी। तुलसिया को सिर्फ भोजपुरी ही आती थी वो हिंदी तक नहीं बोल पाती थी। यही वजह थी कि बिसनू उसे अपने साथ शहर नही लाना चाहता था। बिसनू के अनुसार तुलसिया एक गंवार लड़की थी जो उसके लायक नहीं थी। ख़ैर ! जिन्दगी तो चल रही थी कभी पटरी पर आती तो कभी बेपटरी भी हो जाया करती थी। ऐसे ही तुलसिया को शहर में रहते हुए छह महीने का समय बीत गया। उधर गांव में बिसनू के पिताजी बीमार पड़ गए। तो बहू बेटे को देखने की इच्छा से उन्होंने बेटे और बहू को गांव बुलवा लिए। कुछ दिनों बाद बिसनू के पिता का देहांत हो गया। अब अकेली मां को कैसे बेसहारों की तरह गांव में रहने दे। यही सोचकर बिसनू ने तुलसिया को अब गांव में मां के साथ रहने का बोल दिया। बिसनू वापस शहर जाने लगा तो तुलसिया बोली एगो बात कहीं, राऊर रुक जाईं, हमरो बरत के खाती, का बा कि हमार बरत तबे पूरा होई जब राऊर हमके घूंट भर पानी पियाई। तुलसिया की बात सुनकर बिसनू ने मां की तरफ देखा और चुप हो गया। दो दिन बाद करवाचौथ है तो तुलसिया को साथ ले जाकर बिसनू पूजा के सामान के साथ तुलसिया के लिए नई साड़ी भी लेकर आया। आज वो दिन है जब तुलसिया सारे दिन पानी का एक घूंट भी नहीं पीने वाली हैं। अपने सुहाग की लंबी आयु के लिए कठिन व्रत कर रही तुलसिया को ये खबर नहीं थी कि जिस पति के लिए वो इतने कष्ट सह रही है वो भी उसके लिए कुछ सोच चुका है।

चांद देखने के बाद पति का मुख देखकर तुलसिया ने अपना व्रत संपन्न की। लेकिन अचानक तुलसिया चक्कर खाकर गिर गई। बिसनू तुलसिया को गोद में उठाकर घर में ले गया और जल्दी ही डॉक्टर को बुला लाया। डॉक्टर ने तुलसिया की जांच की तो पता चला कि वो मां बनने वाली है। बिसनू के चेहरे पर कोई भाव नहीं थे। तुलसिया को उसकी सास दुलार कर रही थी। दूसरे दिन बिना किसी बात की परवाह किए बिसनू तैयार हुआ और शहर के लिए निकल पड़ा।

तुलसिया हर दिन बिसनू के लौटने का इंतजार करती, लेकिन कोई मतलब नहीं था क्योंकि बिसनू पहले ही तय कर चुका था कि तुलसिया को वो जीवन भर साथ नही रखेगा। उसे पढ़ी लिखी और हिंदी बोलने वाली लड़की चाहिए थी। बिसनू की ख़ैर खबर के लिए उसकी मां हमेशा चिंतित रहती थी। जब भी गांव से कोई व्यक्ति शहर के लिए जाता तो बिसनू की मां उन्हे ये संदेश जरूर देती थी कि मेरा बेटा तुम्हें मिले तो उसे बताना कि तुम्हारी मां तुम्हें याद करती है। यहां किसी को ये याद नही था कि उसकी एक पत्नी और एक बेटी भी है जो उसके वापसी की राह देख रहे हैं। अब तुलसिया की बेटी निधि तीन वर्ष की हो गई उसने अब तक अपने पिता को नहीं देखी। हर करवाचौथ पर तुलसिया चांद को देखने के बाद बिसनू की तस्वीर देखकर ही अपना व्रत संपन्न करती थी।

तुलसिया की बड़ी होती बेटी अपने पिता के विषय में बहुत सारे सवाल करती है, तुलसिया से, जिनका कोई उत्तर नहीं है उसके पास। तुलसिया अपने भाग्य को कोसते हुए भगवान से यही कहती थी कि - हे बिधाता, हमार का कसूर बा, कि हमार मासूम बेटी के बाप के प्यार नईखे मिलत। मासूम निधि अभी इन बातों को नहीं समझ पाती। गांव के लोगों से बिसनू के बारे में तुलसिया को ये पता चला कि वो शहर में किसी लड़की के साथ रहता है ................ क्या हुआ आगे जानने के लिए अगला भाग जरूर पढ़ें 😊😊

For some time Bisnu kept avoiding but for how long he would lie, after all he had to bring Tulsia along. Whatever was the condition of their relationship, only he knew. Tulsia belonged to the rural area, she used to use the language of the village only. Tulsia knew only Bhojpuri, she could not even speak Hindi. This was the reason why Bisnu did not want to bring her to the city with him. According to Bisnu, Tulsia was a poor girl who did not deserve her. Well ! Life was going on, sometimes it used to come on track and sometimes it used to get derailed. Similarly, Tulsia had spent six months while living in the city. Bisnu's father fell ill in the village. So with the desire to see the son and daughter -in - law, he invited the son and daughter - in - law to the village. A few days later, Bisnu's father passed away. Now how can a single mother be allowed to live in the village like a destitute. Thinking this, Bisnu told Tulsia to live with her mother in the village.

Two days later, it is Karva chauth, so after taking Tulsia along, Bisnu brought a new sari for Tulsia along with the items of worship. Tulsia, who is fasting hard for the long life of her sweetheart, was not aware she was suffering so much had also thought of something for her.

After seeing the moon, Tulsia concluded her fast after seeing her husband's face. But suddenly Tulsia fell down after getting dizzy. Bisnu took her to the house and soon called the doctor. When the doctor examined Tulsia, it came to know that she is going to become a mother. There was no expression on Bisnu's face. Tulsia was being caressed by her mother - in - law. On the second day, without hesitation, Bisnu got ready and left for the city. Tulsia would wait for Bisnu to return every day, but there was no point as Bisnu had already decided that he would not keep Tulsia with him for the rest of his life. He wanted a girl who was educated and spoke Hindi. His mother was always worried for the good news of Bisnu. Whenever a person from the village went to the city, Bisnu's mother used to give him this message that if my son meets you, tell him that your mother misses you. No one here remembered that he had a wife and a daughter who were waiting for his return. Now Tulsia's daughter Nidhi is three years old, she has not yet seen her father. After seeing the moon on every Karva chauth, Tulsia used to end her fast only after seeing the picture of Bisnu.

Tulsia's growing daughter asks Tulsia many questions about her father, to which she has no answer. Tulsia, cursing her fate, used to tell God that oh God what is my fault, my innocent daughter is not getting the love of the father. Innocent Nidhi is still unable to understand these things.
