उमा और ओम की कहानी हम सबके जैसी ही है, क्योंकि हम सभी अपने जीवन में उतार चढ़ाव के साथ अनुभव हासिल करते हैं। अंतर सिर्फ हमारे नजरिए में आता है कि हम अपने अच्छे बुरे समय को किस नजरिए से देखते हैं।

शादी के बाद उमा की आज पहली रसोई है, उमा घबराई हुई है ये बात ओम जानते थे। नई नवेली दुल्हन को रसोई में अकेला छोड़कर सब बाहर बरामदे में बैठकर गरमा गरम नाश्ते का इंतजार करने लगे। उमा को नए घर में कोई चीज का पता नहीं था, तब पीछे से ओम आए और उमा को सब चीजें निकालकर दिए। कल ही तो बहुत सारे वादे किए थे एक दूसरे से नव युगल ने।। उसमें सबसे खास वादा ये था कि सुख दुःख हो या काम, हम हमेशा आधा आधा बांट लेंगे। इससे हमारे जीवन में कभी किसी एक को शिकायत का मौका नहीं मिलेगा। सच भी तो है कि पति पत्नी जीवन रूपी गाड़ी के दो पहिए हैं तो दोनो में इतना सामंजस्य जरूरी है।

पूजा पाठ करने के बाद उमा ने रसोई में पहली बार खाना बनाई, ओम के सहयोग से। ओम केवल अपनी पत्नी का ही सहयोग नहीं कर रहे हैं वो अपनी मां और बहनों का भी बहुत ख्याल रखते थे। उमा की सभी ने खूब तारीफ की,, तो ओम को भी बहुत अच्छा लगा कि उसकी जीवन संगिनी पहले ही दिन परिवार की प्रिय हो गई है। हफ्ते, महीने और साल ऐसे ही दिन बीत रहे थे। कभी उमा ने कोई शिकायत नहीं की, एक कहावत है कि ससुराल शक्कर का घर होता है, आप जब शक्कर चबाओगे तो आवाज तो आयेगी ही। मतलब ससुराल में थोड़ी नोंक झोंक और तकरार तो चलती ही रहती है। यहां उमा के साथ थोड़ा ज्यादा ही होता था, उपवास ना होते हुए भी उमा को अक्सर उपवास करना पड़ता था। उमा की दो ननद थी और दोनों ही उसे पसंद नहीं करती थी। उनका सोचना था कि हमारे कामों की तारीफ तो कोई नहीं करता। भाभी ऐसा कौन सा काम करती है तारीफ लायक जो सब उसके काम की तारीफ करते हैं। बात का बतंगड़ बनाना उनके लिए आम बात थी। ओम जब तक घर में रहते थे तब तक सब अच्छा व्यवहार करते थे उमा के साथ। ओम को कभी भी नहीं लगा कि उमा को उसके जाने के बाद दुर्व्यवहार का सामना करना पड़ता होगा, क्योंकि जब ओम शाम में घर वापस आते थे उमा हंसकर ओम के लिए चाय बनाती और खूब सारी बातें करते दोनों। अब तक उमा दो बच्चों की मां बन चुकी थी। तीसरी बार गर्भवती उमा दिनों दिन कमजोर हो रही है।

ओम उमा की सेहत के लिए चिंतित हैं। उन्हें समझ ही नहीं आ रहा कि आखिर उमा की कमजोरी की वजह क्या है। क्योंकि ओम हर बात का ध्यान रख रहे थे। समय पर डॉक्टर से जांच और फल हरी सब्जियां सब व्यवस्था होने के बावजूद उमा को किसी भी चीज का फायदा क्यों नहीं हो रहा है। अब उमा का चेहरा पीला पड़ने लगा। चिंतित ओम ने सच जानने का तरीका खोजे और काम पर जाने का बहाना करके घर से निकले और वापस आ गए। चुपचाप अपने कमरे में चले गए और ये बात कोई भी नही जानता था। परिवार का असली चेहरा अब सामने आया, ओम के जाने के बाद ओम की दोनों बहनें उमा को काम बताने लगी और उमा के लिए जो फल ओम कल शाम लेकर आए थे उसे उन्होंने उमा से छीनकर खा लिए। सारा दिन उमा से काम करवाते रहे और खाना खाने की फुरसत भी नहीं दी। अब ओम समझ गए कि उमा की इस हालत का जिम्मेदार कौन है। अगले दिन ओम ने किसी से कुछ नहीं कहे और निकल पड़े एक घर की तलाश में। दोपहर तक घर वापस आकर ओम ने उमा से अपना सारा सामान बांध लेने को कहे। उमा कुछ समझ नहीं पाई कि आखिर ओम कहां जाने की बात कह रहे हैं। उमा अपने बच्चों के हाथ पकड़कर घर से निकल गई, वो सोच रही थी कि अब उसके जीवन में कोई दिक्कत नहीं आएगी। लेकिन पल पल बदलते समय को हम नहीं जान पाते हैं। उमा ने तीसरे बच्चे को जन्म दी, बेटा पाकर ओम भी खुश थे। उनके परिवार में दो बेटे और एक बेटी थी। अब तक ओम भी परिवार को सुख से रख सके इतना कमाने में सक्षम हो गए थे। उनके जीवन में अब खुशियों की कमी न थी।

उमा यही सोचती थी कि बहुत अच्छी किस्मत है उसकी जो उसे ओम जैसा जीवनसाथी मिला है। ये बात सिर्फ दिखावा थी क्योंकि ओम अपनी कामयाबी के घमंड में शराब के शौकीन हो गए थे। अब उन्हें परिवार की सुख शांति से ज्यादा खुद के शौक का ध्यान रहता था। ओम के बदलते व्यवहार का असर परिवार पर साफ दिखाई देने लगा। बच्चे अपनी छोटी छोटी जरूरतों के लिए भी तरसने लगे, उमा को सुचारू रूप से घर चलाने में भी परेशानियां आने लगी। समझौता खुशियों के लिए किया जा सकता है लेकिन जरूरतों के लिए नहीं। लेकिन जब घर का मुखिया स्वार्थी हो जाता है तो जीवन में परेशानियों को आने से रोका भी नही जा सकता। उमा के जीवन से दुखों का गहरा नाता था वो सुख के सपने को जीना चाहती थी लेकिन दुखों ने ऐसा जकड़ा कि वो चाहकर भी ना सुख हासिल कर सकी और ना खुशी के दो पल उसे नसीब हुए।

ओम अपने हर उस वचन को भूल गए थे जो उन्होंने उमा से किए थे। आज उमा की परेशानी बांटने वाला कोई नहीं है, वो अकेली अपने हर कठिन समय को बच्चों के साथ जी रही थी। शेष अगले अंक में......

The children started yearning for even their smallest needs. Uma started facing problems in running the house smoothly. Compromise can be made for pleasures but not for needs. But when the head of the house becomes selfish then problems cannot be stopped from coming in life. Sorrows were closely related to Uma's life, she wanted to live the dream of happiness, but sorrows gripped her so much that she could neither achieve happiness nor did she get two moments of happiness.
